If you thought that Akshay Kumar has shrunk back after three successive Bollywood failures ‘Jumbo’, ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ and ‘8×10 Tasveer’, the stunt lover is out there to prove you wrong. Where we have his much awaited mega project ‘Kambakkth Ishq’ creating stirs even before release, the actor has gone ahead to sign a deal with a production house for a whopping 31 crores.
The entire industry had their jaws dropped when the news spread. Where some find it a brave step to fight recession and get things moving, others find it foolish to stake such a big amount on an actor who has given so many flops recently. Whether this investment mints gold or turns out to be a complete loss, only time has the answer in store!

Salman Khan is in a mood to make the second season of his ‘Dus Ka Dum’ even better and far successful than his first row. After Bollywood biggies like Katrina, Neil, Mallika and others he has managed to get otherwise media shy Sridevi on his show.
This would be Sridevi’s first appearance in a reality show. However, when Salman invited her for the show she just couldn’t refuse him because she is supposedly a fan of this actor and also because she is the producer of Salman’s next release ‘Wanted’. It may be mentioned here that the two have worked together in films like ‘Chand Ka Tukda’ and ‘Chandramukhi’. Though the episode is primarily a part of the promotion of the film ‘Wanted’ but the trio of Sridevi, her husband Boney Kapoor and Salman Khan shared some quality bonding over the show. Salman also gifted two of her paintings on the show and showed it to all.

Hrithik Roshan has been the favorite of the gossip columns for quite sometime now. On the professional front, he is getting accolades for his performance in his much awaited project, ‘Kites’ but his personal front has been in news for all wrong reasons. He is being linked to his ‘Kites’ co-star Barbara Mori, leading to differences with his wife Suzanne followed by his arguments with papa Rakesh Roshan which has made him decide to leave his paternal house.
All these personal problems have left Hrithik, who has always had a good boy image, turn to alcohol for solace. The bottle which used to be his fellow only on occasional events has now become his fast and regular friend. The rumor that Hrithik has turned alcoholic found firm grounds when he came drunk at Karan Johar’s recent birthday bash. Hrithik looked like he was in high spirits and later even danced on one of the tables.
However, we feel that this is just a passing phase in junior Roshan’s life and the star will soon get over it proving all the criticisms wrong.

Despite the absence of many top Bollywood stars, the IIFA 2009(International Indian Film Academy) pulled off as a gala event amidst much glamour and glitter. It was a special event for the host Amitabh Bachchan as his wax statue from Madame Tassauds has been unveiled at this ceremony and was displayed there till June 13 after which it was sent back to London.
An overwhelmed Big B said, “I am very happy and I thank Madame Tussauds for considering me worthy of a wax statue. I hope many more from India fraternity join me in the museum.”
Daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai said, “The statue is nice but you can’t beat the original.”
The fashion extravaganza held at Venetian Hotel on June 12 was hosted by celebrity duo Zayed Khan and Sophie Choudhary, who appeared in Manav Gangwani creations. Many Bollywood stars walked the ramp showcasing creations by leading Indian designers Rocky S, Manav Gangwani, Anamika Khanna and Farah Ali Khan — along with a new collection by Hong Kong designer Chris Chang. Hrithik and wife Suzzane Roshan showcased the jewelary by Farah Ali Khan. Sonam Kapoor carried the stylish evening wear by Anamika Khanna with commendable poise. Bipasha Basu appeared in a creation by Rocky S, while Dia Mirza, Dino Morea and Madhavan modeled for Manav Gangwani, and Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse were show-stoppers for Siyaram. As an icing to the cake was the performance by international singing sensation Peter Andre.
The event also saw performance by the host family members Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan. Inspite of the absence of beau John Abraham, Bipasha Basu gave a dazzling performance. Nonetheless, IIFA, this year, missed many key players including SRK, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Ajay Devgan, and Rani Mukherji to list a few.

The 7th anniversary issue of L-Officiel India is special in the sense that for the first time it brings the Royal and young brother and sister Bachchan to grace a magazine cover together. Talking about Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda (Bachchan), they adorn the cover of the fashion magazine in its latest issue all adorned in Louis Vuitton’s new collection.
Shweta is all praises for the shoot which was done in London and says, “I was more comfortable doing this shoot, than the first one (September 2006)”. For Abhishek too, the shoot was special as he goes on to say, “It was weird. We’ve done one or two photo shoots before when we were kids and that too, with our parents which was around 15-16 years ago!”
The issue is different in itself as it gives the usual spicy lovers story a skip and instead talks about the siblings love and adoration for each other. Abhishek, on his own admission, says “We’ve (Shweta and him) always grown up together, we’ve always been to the same schools, same college, we shared a room and everything… We can fight like cats and dogs, but we’re intensely protective of each other. And I know that there’s a great amount of love”. He also goes onto add, “When we were growing up, it was just the four of us (Big B, Jaya, Shweta and him) and we were very, very insular. We’ve always known that for the unique position that we were in, it was only the four of us who could understand that situation in totality. And because our parents are who they are, we’ve always trusted each other more than anybody else.”
Well, if you want to have a sneek-peak into what it feels like to be Bachchan kids, grab a copy for yourself before every single piece gets sold out!

Sanjay Gupta’s ‘
Shootout at Lokhandwala’ is based on a real shootout and has real life characters of underworld don like Maya Dolas (Vivek Oberoi), Javed Hyderabadi (Arbaaz Khan) and inspector Aftab Ahmed Khan (Sanjay Dutt).
The latest buzz is that Rakhi Sawant is also in the film playing an actress who was shooting at Lokhandwala on the day the encounter happened. Rakhi affirms, ”I got a call from director Apoorva Lakhia when I was shooting for my film Buddha Mar Gaya in Hyderabad. They wanted me to play an actress who happens to be on the site of the shootout and becomes an eyewitness of the incident.”
The real actress who was shooting that day at Lokhandwala was Pooja Bedi. When Pooja was enquired why she didn’t play her character in the movie, she said, ”Apoorva did approach me and wanted me to play the part. But it’s probably just a 10 second scene that didn’t interest me”.

Saif Ali Khan has a difficult choice to make. He has been approached by the two biggest banners of Bollywood. Firstly , for Aditya Chopra’s next film to be directed by Victor and secondly, for Karan Johar’s next to be directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Both these banners have proved to be major contributors in establishing the actor in the industry- The most successful movies of the actor’s career have been ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Salaam Namaste’ with Yash Raj Productions and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ with Dharma Productions.
The problem is that the dates for both the movies are clashing and none of the producers are ready to change the dates. So. Saif has no other option than to opt out of one of them. Lets see, what choice Saif makes.
Anyways, its commendable that the actor now holds a position to make such choices. Not everyone is that lucky!!

Is usman taking care of the settings? “Well, the tile man and the interior designer just came on my sets and we decided what tile we would be putting where. What was supposed to be a couple of days’ break for Hrithik Roshan turned out to be a slightly longer vacation - all thanks to the perfectionist Ashutosh Gowarikar. Hrithik took a quick break to attend a recent function at Malaysia, and was supposed to rush back to Jodhpur where he is shooting for
Akbar Jodha. But gowarikar wanted to add finishing touches to the sets of the film, to bring more authenticity to it. Not that Hrithik is complaining, a little more bonding time with his baby roshan is always welcome. Right Papa Roshan?

Celina Jaitley’s last release Apna Sapna Money Money was almost ironical. No, not the film, but her experience while shooting the film. “It was a very emotional time for me. I had just broken up with my boyfriend Sean Teague, and I was still trying to cope with it. And I had to go out there and shoot funny scenes. It was so ironical. But my director and co-stars were very supportive, so I sailed through it. So when I get compliments for the film now, I feel happier than usual, because the emotions attached to it are very different,” explains Celina Jaitley, in a very emotional Tone. Well as far as Celina is concerned, we don’t think the comedy flick was funny at all. But with all the compliments flowing in, we think she’s having the last laugh anyways!

Shah Rukh Khan might be all over the place interacting with the media and addressing press conferences. But the man is in real pain. And no, it’s not the hovering media that’s causing him pain. While he was shooting for
Chak De which required a lot of physical activity, he suffered a pulled hamstring. It will take sometimes for the muscle to heal, so SRK has been poping pain killers so that he can complete his promotional activities for the upcoming quiz show he will be hosting. That’s called “pulling strings to make things work’. We love king khan for that, don’t we?

It takes one talented actor to admire another talented man. Abhishek Bachchan is total floored by the cinematographer of his own film Guru. The man in question, Rajiv Menon is so meticulous about his job that he doesn’t hesitate to make last minute changes in the lighting on the sets of this Manu Ratnam film. Abhishek was really impressed when rajiv agreed to change the lighting to make sure that everything goes right.
