Ranbir Kapoor & Konkona Sen in ‘Wake Up Sid’

Having a most unusual pair of Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead roles Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions’ forthcoming venture ‘Wake Up Sid’ seems to awake much enthusiasm among the cinelovers. The movie is being directed by debutante Ayaan Mukherjee, who earlier was assistant director of Ashutosh Gowariker in ‘Swades’ and Karan Johar in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’.Scheduled to release on October 2, 2009, the movie is based on the story of a handsome young boy (Ranbir Kapoor) who falls for an older and simple writer woman (Konkona Sen Sharma).Anupam Kher will be seen as father of Ranbir Kapoor.This will be the first film produced by Dharma Productions that will be distributed worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures and not by Yash Raj Films, thus marking the end of the collaboration between Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films.
